The repatriation of the $321m plundered by late Gen. Sani Abacha may not be done at any point in the near future as the Swiss government says the World Bank needs to conclude the activities to be executed with the cash by the Federal Government.
The Swiss government clarified that a respective assention for the compensation of the cash would then be marked subsequently, which would frame the premise for the exchange of the cash.
The Deputy Head of Mission, Swiss international safe haven in Nigeria, Daniel Cavegn, said this in an email to request from our reporter about the time allotment for the repatriation of the cash.
Cavegn expressed that the Swiss government was prepared to begin the exchange of the asset once all the important World Bank convention and understandings had been dealt with.
